Weekend fun

Can you believe it?! WE WENT CAMPING! And very much enjoyed it. We went with our friends the Lights who are good at getting us to do things we might not do on our own for a long time! I love camping but it took some convincing to get my dear Kurto to go! But we went and we will go again! We arrived Friday night-I forgot to take any pictures that night-Joey Light made some awesome dutch oven chicken and rice and pineapple upsidedown cake and then we roasted up some s'mores! MMMM! Saturday morning Kurt and I made breakfast...well attempted to! It was a good learning experience in cooking at camp anyways! Pancakes, eggs and fruit..

After breakfast we went for a bike ride which Tyson fell asleep during. We made our way to a beautiful stream and watched the boys throw rocks into it! We really did have a good time and I am grateful to the Lights for letting us come last minutes- especially since they had to reserve the spot 3 months ago! We will definitely be doing this more often.

Tyson is walking!

Happy Birthday Tyson...last month!!

Ok so I am way behind on here. But Tyson had his first birthday about a month ago. We were traveling between both Kurt and I's families and so he got to have 2 birthday parties!! One was in Wyoming with my family and the other was in St. Louis with Kurts parents! In Wyoming Liana, Mom and I stayed up until 1 o'clock in the morning making cakes from scratch and decorating them. Kurt kept saying that we were crazy but the truth is it was a lot of fun and something I will never forget. We talked and talked and talked all through the night. When it gets late and the Starks girls get tired- we get a little wierd. My mom doesnt have a filter when its late and is very honest, saying things she probably wouldnt normally say but Liana and I just laugh! I had a design of a cake I wanted to make and need-less-to- say it did not turn out how I had invisioned it! But thats ok- people still ate it! I planned out this birthday party for months. Just ask Kurt, a lot of nights I would sit down and go through tons and tons of party supplies on line, and cake designs, talked to people to arrange places and times to have it etc etc to try and make this party perfect. I know Tyson doesnt know what is going on but I wanted it to be something we would remember and be able to share with our families. But again, it didnt turn out how I had invisioned or planned for months for!! But thats OK! I tell Kurt over and over when things go wrong that, "it just makes for good memories." And I think that is how this birthday will be. It wasnt what I had planned for but it was good. And I will always remember it!

Tyson's party with the Starks'!....In St.Louis Kurts paretns had presents and a cake waiting for the Birthday boy! He tore into the cake and took a couple of bites but then got a little freaked out when the more he rubbed his hands the more the cake spread! He loved opening his presents and ripping apart the paper!

Post 3 of ?- Dallas

After Wyoming and St. Louis we flew to Dallas for a family reunion where Kurts brother Scott and his family live. We had a blast! We hadnt seen some of the family since our wedding almost 3 years ago. We did a lot of stuff and made a lot of memories. We went to a Rodeo where the kids got on the big screen a lot! They even were brave and signed up to do muttin bustin(riding sheep) but sadly none of them were chosen. They did however get to go out into the arena for Dash for Cash and chase after steers. We also played water balloon volleyball and played at the pool. We went to a place called "pump it up" which was full of blow up houses. We played a lot of family games and got to know everyone better. We had a lot of fun and it was sad to say goodbye to everyone.Grandma and Grandpa saying good morning in the hotelJensen men playing "so you think you can dance" on the wiiPump it up!Tyson and cousin Alyssa!Tyson at the pool

Post 2 or ?- St. Louis

After Wyoming- we flew on to St. Louis Missouri where Kurts parents live. It was hot! They were so kind and had gifts and a cake waiting for Tyson when we got there since we arrived on his birthday(pictures and story to be in a later post!) We wanted Grandma and Grandpa to get some one on one time with Tyson and us of course before we went on to our family reunion in Texas. We had a great time there- as always. We went to the zoo, watched movies and played a lot in the pool! I dont know what it is but I LOVE St. Louis!

Ok here is the first of many posts about our family vacation! We started out by going to Wyoming where we stayed for a week at my parents house. My oldest brother got married and had a beautiful wedding!! It was a lot of fun getting to know his new bride and her 2 little kidlets. I cant express how happy I am for their new family! The wedding party.Carriage ride for the families to the reception!Lili holding Wyatt who fell asleep at the receptiona and Aurora coming to check on him!

The Monday following the wedding the Starks Family, Johnson Family and McGee Family(around 22 people in all) went to a waterpark in Denver called Water World. Kurt had never been to a water park like that before and I think he really enjoyed it!
