We went to St. Louis this past week, on a business/pleasure trip! Kurt had some things to do in a town about 2 hours away from his parents so I tagged along and hung out in St. Louis for the 2 days we was gone and then we spent the next 4 days enjoying family time! I wasn't too concerned on how traveling would effect my body with how far along I am but MAN did it take a toll on me. I found myself getting pretty grumpy by the end of the trip simply because my body ached.
We had a couple of incidents on this trip. One- the morning after we arrived, while Tyson was exploring Grandma and Grandpas house, he ran into the bathroom slipping and falling face first into the bath tub, which split both top and bottom lips, leaving them VERY fat and tender, and chipping his front tooth. Kurt's best friend from college is a Dentist and has come in very handy over the past few years! We called him immediately to which he said if you cant see any of the nerve then there is nothing you can do for a baby tooth. Luckily its not THAT bad!
Two- on the flight back home, I was holding Tyson on my side in the Las Vegas airport and suddenly felt warmth seeping through my shirt where he had peed through his diaper. If you haven't been to the Vegas airport in a while, they are doing construction and we had to walk clear across the airport to catch out connecting flight. So we were in a very big hurry- as big of a hurry as you can be 7 1/2 months pregnant and body pushed to the limit that is! So I ran to make sure we didn't miss our flight, while Kurt went to a gift shop to buy us new clothes so we didn't get on the next flight smelling like pee!
Three- When we finally got to the Reno airport, they too were doing construction and we has to walk outside all the way across the airport(again) to baggage claim, where they LOST our car seat. Luckily we had brought our second car seat to fly with and left the other one in the car. They told us they would bring it the next morning but it didn't show up until the next day about 530pm. Good thing we have a car seat in each car or they would have gotten a grumpy ear full from a pregnant lady!
By the time we finally got to the car, I could hardly walk anymore, my back and legs were about to give out and I felt extremely nauseous. Got home, and threw up pretty much everything that was in my stomach and have been sick ever since. Not sure if I caught something somewhere along the way or my body is just saying it needs a rest!
Four- then to top it all off- because we didn't have a car seat in my car, Kurt took it to work and left the truck for me. I get a call about 545pm from Kurt saying that the tire blew on my car and he would have to try and change it on the side of the road. He did it pretty quickly but when he got home, told me that it wasn't that my tire was bad but that a huge chunk of metal stabbed it through it.
So although we had a great time in Missouri, we had our share of mishaps!
Oh my! What an end to your trip. So sorry. I hope you are feeling better! It was fun seeing you guys.
